How to prepare yourself for future tattoo?
-Get hydrated. When you are hydrated, your skin is hydrated and will be able to maintain a better heal and withstand longer sessions.
-Lotion the area to be tattooed once or twice daily. Again, the healthier your skin, the better the results.
-Skin Treatments. No tanning, fake tanning, chemical peels, sunburns, major cuts or scrapes, in the area to be tattooed.
-No extreme weight lifting in or near the area to be tattooed at least 3 days prior to your session to prevent unnecessary swelling & soreness.
What to do right before the session?
-Have good night sleep. Sessions can last for a few hours and will be tough on your body.
-Be sure to show up to your appointment after having a good meal to stay energised.
-Come to your session prepared with snacks and drinks so that your blood sugar does not go too low at any point. Eating also prevents dizziness that might arise out of nerves or hunger.
-Make sure you stay properly hydrated before and throughout your session with (mainly) water and/or sugary drinks.
– Entertainment. Come prepared with headphones or something you enjoy so that you can listen to music and/or watch a TV show or movie to pass the time.
– Wear clothing that is comfortable, and easily accessible for you and your tattoo artist.
Can I see the design before my tattoo appointment?
Your design will be ready to view in the studio on the day of your appointment.
CAN I BRING ANYONE WITH ME WHILST ATTENDING A SESSION?
Due to our health and safety guidelines we ask that you come alone to your appointment.
1: Remove the first Pad after 6 hours or next morning.
2: Wash the tattooed area.
3: Dry with clean paper towel.
4: Use the desired aftercare ointment/lotion and apply a new Pad.
5: Repeat this steps for first 24-48 hours. Depending on how much liquide the tattoo is pushing out.
6: After this, you can stop using Pads. Continue washing your tattoo and applying cream 3-5 times a day in a thin layer.
Sleeping with the pads on is completely fine. You do not need to wake up in the middle of the night to change your pads.
